Flights between Yerevan, Kapan increased to three weekly
YEREVAN, August 28. /ARKA/. The frequency of regular passenger flights between Yerevan and the city of Kapan in the southernmost Syunik province has been increased, Syunik Governor Robert Ghukasyan reported on Tuesday.
In addition to the existing flights on Mondays and Fridays, a new regular flight has been added on Wednesdays.
The Syunik Airport, which had been inactive for nearly 30 years, was renovated to meet international standards and was certified by the Armenian Civil Aviation Committee in 2020. In September 2023, the airport received a three-letter code, YUK, from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Since August 21, 2023, the airport has been operating regular flights to and from Yerevan, serviced by the airline NovAir. The cost of a one-way ticket is 20,000 drams (approximately $50).
