The Armenian police have received the first reports about irregularities in the Yerevan city council election.

YEREVAN, September 23. /ARKA/. The Armenian police have received the first reports about irregularities in the Yerevan city council election.

According to the police department press office, ten messages have been received as of 11:00, one of which relates to obstruction of a journalist’s professional activity and another to an attempt to vote more than one time and for another person. 

The police say three other cases relate to inaccuracy of voters lists and five to offences. 

All the reports are being verified now. 

Today Yerevan residents are electing their city council and mayor.

Twelve political parties and blocs are racing for membership in the city council and for the mayor’s seat - Prosperous Armenia party with its mayor candidate Naira Zohrabyan; Yerevan Community with Anahit Tarkhanyan; Yerean Residents with Ararat Zurabyan; Yerkir Tsirani with Zaruhi Postanjyan; Heritage party with Raffi Hovhannisyan; Democratic Way party with Manvel Gasparyan; My Step bloc with Hayk Marutyan; Luys bloc with Artak Zeynalyan; Armenian Revolutionary Federation/Dashnaktsutyun with Mikael Manukyan; Hayk party with Gevorg Hovsepyan; Reformists Party with Artak Avetyan and Orinats Yerkir with Mher Shahgeldyan.

According to the police, there are 848,343 people eligible to vote in Armenia’s capital city. --0---
