YEREVAN, January 7 /ARKA/. Yerevan Municipality has presented the steps to be taken before February 1 this year to be able to use public transportation under the new ticketing system.
Since January 1, a unified ticketing system has been in force in Yerevan, which no longer allows cash payment on buses, trolleybuses and the metro.
in order to make the transition period as easy as possible, until February 1 it is possible to buy a ticket via Telcell Wallet and Telcell payment terminals at the following prices: 100 drams for buses and subways, 50 drams for trolleybuses," said Hayk Kostanyan, spokesman for the Yerevan city administration.
He presented steps to prepare for a unified ticketing system with new fares.
Via the website - Transport.yerevan.am you can:
get information and choose the cheapest ticket packages for yourself and your family, check the availability of discounts by entering your social card number and date of birth.
buy a new ticket package today by attaching it to your physical bank or transport card that offers the option of contactless payment.
Before purchasing a ticket package, it is necessary to check the following
1. the expiration date of the physical bank card to which the ticket package is loaded, so that it is valid until the ticket package expires,
2. the possibility of contactless payment with this card.
it is important to note that payment via Apple Pay or Google Pay does not activate the ticket package, as it is only available on the physical card," Kostanyan explained.
To purchase discounted ticket packages via transport.yerevan.am, one must:
1. register at transport.yerevan.am,
2. identify yourself online,
3. if membership in a privileged group is confirmed, tickets will be available at discounted prices.
for citizens who have difficulty using computers or cell phones and who belong to a privileged group, Telcell service points will be set up daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. starting January 8 (the addresses can be found on the transport.yerevan.am website)," Kostanyan wrote.
At the service points it is possible to:
1. purchase a transportation card,
2. undergo personal identification to check the availability of services,
3. after confirming the availability of benefits, to purchase a ticket package by linking it to a bank or transport card that offers the possibility of contactless payment.

It is also important to know:
When buying a transportation card, a guarantee amount of 500 drams is paid. You can get the money back if you return the card. The return should be made at Telcell service points.
When purchasing a new transport card, please note that it will be activated within 3 hours of the ticket package being attached.
The service for representatives of privileged groups will also be offered in the district administration buildings; details will be announced at a later date.
we ask and appeal to those who are able to purchase packages online alone or with the help of another person to take care of those citizens who are not able to do so and not to overload the service offices in order to avoid the formation of queues. In the coming days, we will also present the options for purchasing the new ticket packages for people without social benefits. More information can be found at transport.yerevan.am," says Kostanyan.
