A new train consisting of three fully repaired and modernized cars started today transporting passengers in the Yerevan Metro (subway). Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan had a trip in the train today, the city administration's press service reported.

YEREVAN, December 21. /ARKA/. A new train consisting of three fully repaired and modernized cars started today transporting passengers in the Yerevan Metro (subway). Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan had a trip in the train today, the city administration's press service reported.

It said from now on 12 trains will operate on the main line, which will noticeably facilitate the comfortable movement of passengers. It said the modernization and repair of the rolling stock is done exceptionally with the money saved during the operation of the subway.

The Yerevan Metro launched in 1981 runs on a 13.4 kilometer line and currently serves 10 active stations.
