'TRANSARMENIA' ultra marathon to be launched on September 30

Armenia’s youth and sport ministry's 'TRANSARMENIA – North-South Ultra Marathon Race and Encouragement of Youth Healthy Lifestyle' project will be launched on September 30 in Bagratashen, a village located on Armenia's border with Georgia, the press office of the ministry reported on Thursday.

YEREVAN, August 27. /ARKA/. Armenia’s youth and sport ministry's 'TRANSARMENIA – North-South Ultra Marathon Race and Encouragement of Youth Healthy Lifestyle' project will be launched on September 30 in Bagratashen, a village located on Armenia's border with Georgia, the press office of the ministry reported on Thursday.
The project implies an unprecedented 11-day 560-kilometer marathon race from Armenia’s north to south (Bagratashen - Agarak) with participation of Andrey Khachaturov, a Russian ultra-runner of Armenian descent, and runners from TriClub Yerevan, who will pass all the way.
The participants of ultra marathon will meet on their way with young people from Ijevan, Gavar, Sisian, Goris, Kapan and Kajaran and will talk to them about healthy lifestyle.
Prospects of development of clubs of popular sports and healthy lifestyle will be presented to residents of the mentioned cities.
The race will be completed on September 9 in Agarak on Armenia's border with Iran.
Ultra-runners will pass 560 kilometers. --0----
