In 2012 Armenia will host an international ministerial summit on tourism, a deputy economy minister Ara Petrosian told a news conference today.
YEREVAN, October 21. / ARKA /. In 2012 Armenia will host an international ministerial summit on tourism, a deputy economy minister Ara Petrosian told a news conference today.
According to him, a relevant decision was made at a meeting of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) October 8-14 in Korea, that discussed also the details of the upcoming meeting.
"Armenia will act as an organizer, an international venue for the summit and there is a tentative agreement on a concluding declaration", Petrosian said.
He said also that the holding of such a large meeting in Armenia will greatly enhance the credibility of the country, and will allow to ырщцсфыу Armenia’s tourism potential and improve its overall ranking. He said some 70% of 150 UNWTO member countries are supposed to attend the Yerevan summit.

UNWTO plays a crucial role in the promotion, development, sustainability and universal accessibility of tourism. UNWTO has 154 member countries and more than 400 affiliated members.
