YEREVAN, January 20. /ARKA/. Armenia's resort town of Tsakhkadzor in central province of Kotayk is ranked as one of the best ten resorts in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for winter recreation and travel in January and February 2020.

According to the rating, compiled by the tourist portal TurStat based on the analysis of tours and offers of winter rest in the CIS countries, the best resorts for skiing and snowboarding are located in Armenia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.

The list includes Tsaghkadzor in Armenia, Chimbulak, Altai Alps and Nurtau in Kazakhstan, Logoisk and Silichi in Belarus, Shahdag and Tufandag in Azerbaijan, Karakol in Kyrgyzstan and Chimgan in Uzbekistan.

On January 19, 2020 the mountain resorts of the CIS countries celebrated the World Snow Day, which has been marked since 2012 at the initiative of the International Ski Federation (FIS). -0-
