Armenia suspends visa free travels from Iran

Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it has suspended temporarily the visa-free regime with Iran.
YEREVAN, March 10. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it has suspended temporarily the visa-free regime with Iran.
"Due to the epidemiological situation caused by the new type of coronavirus, the Memorandum of visa-free regime between Armenia and Iran is temporarily suspended. According to the decree of the Armenian government, Iranian citizens must receive entry visas in advance starting March 7, for which they need to apply to Armenian embassies / consulates in foreign countries or get an entry visa through the electronic system E-VISA," the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said also that the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Islamic Republic of Iran is operating in emergency mode, therefore the provision of consular services is temporarily suspended, and a visa can be obtained only through the E-VISA system in Iran.
Given the current state of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the ministry urged the citizens of Armenia to temporarily avoid visiting the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of China, the republic of Korea, Japan and EU counties, particularly, Germany, Italy, France and Spain, except in urgent cases.
It said in case of a visit or stay in the aforementioned countries, the Armenian citizens must follow the instructions and advice of the Ministry of Health of Armenia and relevant authorities of that country, and in case of need, contact the Diplomatic Missions of Armenia on the spot.-0-
