YEREVAN, February 28. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan instructed today the economy minister and the chairman of the central bank to think over privatization of the Yerevan Jewelry Plant.

When Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan, speaking at today’s Cabinet session, proposed to make the Yerevan Jewelry Plant company’s authorized capital equal to net assets the premier said: “Is there any reason for the government to hold 80% of this plant’s shares? I think it would be better to privatize it.”

Sargsyan also instructed the head of the State Revenue Committee to conduct inspections in the plant and the economy minister and the central bank chairman to discuss room for selling the company’s shares at stock market.

The Yerevan Jewelry Plant’s net assets totaled AMD 3.2 billion and its authorized capital amounted to AMD 10.3 billion in late 2011. ($1 – AMD 409.02).  -0-
