YEREVAN, December 29. /ARKA/. The Yerevan Municipality has announced an open two-stage tender to select an investor for the construction and subsequent operation of a mixed municipal waste recycling plant. Sirarpi Haykazyan, head of the Municipality's Environmental Protection Department, announced this.
"The announcement has been sent to all investors who previously submitted applications. The deadline for submitting applications to participate in the tender is March 27, 2026," Haykazyan noted at a working meeting at the Municipality on Monday.
Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, in turn, announced that the tender documentation package is already available, and potential investors can review it for three months and submit their proposals.
He also noted that the Municipality has already received a significant number of applications from various countries. "The project is attracting interest from a wide range of foreign partners," Avinyan emphasized.
Yerevan City Hall previously announced plans to establish a waste recycling plant on the site of the Nubarashen landfill on the outskirts of the city.
In collaboration with partners (the EBRD and the World Bank), proposals for projects to build a new landfill and recycling station have been collected, and the terms of a two-stage tender have been developed based on these proposals. The investment package for the plant's construction has already been put into circulation.
