Armenia's budget deficit is expected to stand at 2% in the medium term, Pavel Safaryan, Armenian deputy finance minister, said Thursday in the National Assembly.

YEREVAN, May 20. /ARKA/. Armenia's budget deficit is expected to stand at 2% in the medium term, Pavel Safaryan, Armenian deputy finance minister, said Thursday in the National Assembly.
He said, a 4.4% budget deficit was recorded in 2015 as a result of the expansionary policy.
«However, for the medium term we take lower deficit indicators – 2%, since they depend on internal sources, which are now showing a downward motion,» Safaryan said.
The deputy minister said that this indicator is not strictly fixed – it can be revised upward if economic things change.
In the government budget for 2016, deficit is projected at 3.5% of GDP. --0---
