Armenia obtains Shanghai Cooperation Organization dialogue partner country status
YEREVAN, April 18. /ARKA/. Armenia has formalized it status of a state partner at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization dialogue, Novosti-Armenia reports referring to TASS.

An appropriate memorandum was signed by Rashid Alimov, secretary general of the organization, and Edward Nalbandyan, Armenian foreign minister.

Nalbandyan said that the signing of the memorandum laid a legal ground for transition of interaction between the organization and Armenia to a new platform.

Finding the organization’s activity effective, he said that collective efforts in resisting current challenges and expansion of economic, business and humanitarian cooperation produce certain results.

Alimov, on his side, stressed the importance of Armenia’s new status saying that this memorandum has completed the process of the dialogue partner status formalization by Cambodia, Azerbaijan, Nepal and Armenia.

Already six countries are the Shanghai Cooperation Organization dialogue partners, he said.
