European Union welcomes the progress made in the process of negotiations on Associations Agreements with Armenia, according to the final document adopted yesterday at EU Council session in Brussels.

YEREVAN, February 28. /ARKA/. European Union welcomes the progress made in the process of negotiations on Associations Agreements with Armenia, according to the final document adopted yesterday at EU Council session in Brussels. 

All the conditions for starting negotiations on Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) have been already met, and EU expects their launching in the first half of 2012, the document says.EU Council points out that Armenia should continue evolving sector reforms and bring trade norms and those of related fields into harmony following the agreements on the way to adopting Associations Agreements. 

The document also reports on EU readiness to continue assisting Armenia in this sphere.EU also welcomes the start of negotiations on visa facilitation agreement and readmission, which were stepped up yesterday in Yerevan.-0-
