A delegation headed by St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko arrives in Yerevan on Wednesday for a four-day visit, RIA Novosti reports referring to the governor's press office.

YEREVAN, April 29. /ARKA/. A delegation headed by St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko arrives in Yerevan on Wednesday for a four-day visit, RIA Novosti reports referring to the governor's press office. 

Poltavchenko is set to meet with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan as part of the visit. 

«A program of trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation between St Petersburg and Yerevan authorities for 2015-2020 is planned to be signed after negotiation,» the press release says. 

Poltavchenko will attend the unveiling of the memorial to children of the blockaded Leningrad, will meet with the survivors of the blockade who live in Armenia and will lay flowers at the eternal flame in the Victory Park to remember soldiers fallen in the World War II. 

He will also visit Tsitsernakaberd, the memorial of Armenian Genocide victims, to pay floral tribute to the Armenians slain by Ottoman Turks in 2015. 

Poltavchenko is going to speak at the conference 'Saint Petersburg and Yerevan Expanding Cooperation Horizons'. 

St. Petersburg's delegation will visit School #8 after Alexander Pushkin. 

A cooperation agreement will be signed between this school and School# 619 in St. Petersburg. 

The delegation also intends to travel to Echmiadzin, where the guests will meet with Garegin II, the Armenian Apostolic Church leader. --0----
