YEREVAN, August 10. /ARKA/. The situation along the line of contact between the Armenian armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani troops has been stable over the last 24 hours, despite the persistent tension, the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Ministry reported.

"No significant ceasefire violations and incidents have been recorded. Steps are being taken together with Russian peacekeeping troops to further stabilize the situation," the ministry said.

In a related development, Nagorno-Karabakh leader Arayik Harutyunyan signed a decree on the demobilization of citizens called up for military service as part of the partial mobilization announced on August 3, 2022.

Two Nagorno-Karabakh Armenian soldiers were killed and 19 others were wounded in a fighting provoked by Azerbaijani armed forces on August 3 in another violation of the November 9, 2020 trilateral statement made by the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan to end hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.

The fighting occurred in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.  Speaking at government session last Thursday, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accused Azerbaijan of breaching the Russian-brokered ceasefire agreement that stopped the Armenian-Azerbaijani war over Nagorno-Karabakh in November 2020 and also called for adjusting the details of the Russian peacekeeping operation and specifying their mandate.-0-
