YEREVAN, October 22. /ARKA/. The chief coach of the Armenian national football team Vardan Minsayan resigns, the website of the football federation reports.

“Today I met with the president of the football federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan. We discussed a number of problems connected with our national team. The president suggested me continuing to lead the team in the new qualifying cycle (of 2014-2016 European championship), but I declined and expressed my gratitude to him for trust”, Minasyan said as quoted by the press office of the football federation.

Minasyan said it would be an honor for him to continue coaching the national team, but he prefers a different career.

“There is a number of offers, from abroad in particular, and I would like to discuss them”, he said.
Minasyan expressed his gratitude also to the fans, the football federation of Armenia, sports reporters and footballers of the national team.

The contract with Minasyan as the chief coach of the team expires on October 31 2013.

The Armenian national team showed not a bad football in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers and shared the fourth and fifth places with Bulgarians. Italy became the leader in the group B with 22 points. Danes were the second with 16 points, followed by Czechs (15 points).  Armenia and Bulgaria had 13 points each.

Maltese were the last in the group with 3 points only.  –0--
