Republican Party of Armenia and Dashnaktsutiun laying ground for long-term cooperation

Armenian Revolutionary Federation/Dashnaktsutiun doesn’t rule out that its attempt to collaborate with the Republican Party of Armenia in a coalition may fail because of discord inside Dashnaktsutiun, Zhamanak reports referring to its sources.According to the newspaper, fierce debates inside the Dashnaktsutiun over candidates to ministerial posts, and at some moment some members of the party called to the presidential residence and said that collaboration with the authorities may fail because of internal discord.
On Wednesday, Eduard Sharmazanov, Eduard Sharmazanov, a spokesman for the Republican Party of Armenia, said following a meeting of the party’s Supreme Body that the governing Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation/Dashnaktsutyun have reached a preliminary agreement to form a coalition government and that the final decision will be unveiled later this week.
Sources of Zhamanak newspaper say the Dashnaktsutiun’s elite split into two camps, and each of them has its own ambitions and each wants to take its own advantages of the collaboration.
Hrant Markaryan, an MP from Dashnaktsutiun who is now negotiating with Serzh Sargsyan, said an accord already was reached on ministerial seats and candidates.
Candidacies of Artsvik Minasyan, David Lokyan and Levon Mkrtchyan were put up, but another, no less influential part of the parliamentary faction represented by Armen Rustamyan, Aghvan Vardanyan and Lilit Galstyan is strongly opposed to the mentioned candidates saying that in recent years they absolutely didn’t differ from other Armenian tycoons and very soon found it not necessary to communicate with their fellow partisans.
Media resources report that justice, education and science as well as territorial administration ministers’ positions may be offered to Dashnaktsutiun. -0---
Armenian economy minister leaves rumors about his resignation without comments
YEREVAN, February 11. /ARKA/. Armenian Economy Minister Karen Chshmarityan refrains from commenting rumors going around that he will resign.
Now the Armenian Revolutionary Federation/Dashnaktsutiun is negotiating with the ruling Republican Party of Armenia over collaboration in the coalition.
Armen Rustamyan, an MP from Dashnaktsutiun, said yesterday that the party would get three ministerial and two governor seats. In his words, Dashnaktsyutyun will obtain the posts of territorial administration, education and science and economy ministers as well as the positions of Shirak and Aragatsotn provinces’ governors.
“My Czech colleague is waiting me, and as for my resignation, I recommend you to wait until the end of this week, and then everything will become clear,” Chshmarityan told journalists.
According some media resources, however, Dahsnaktsutyun will take up the posts of justice, education and science and territorial administration ministers. --0----
