YEREVAN, July 9. /ARKA/. The Ararat Cement plant will soon be transferred to state ownership, announced Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The owner of Ararat Cement is Gagik Tsarukyan, president of Multi Group and leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party.

"We will do everything to ensure that the rights of Ararat Cement employees are respected. Ararat Cement will very soon become state-owned. A manager will be appointed," Pashinyan said at a briefing on Thursday.

He called on the plant's employees not to get involved in political processes or coerce others into participating in any protests.

Pashinyan did not specify a timeframe for completing the process of transferring the plant to state ownership, who will be appointed as the manager, or how the plant's operations will be organized going forward.

About the Ararat Cement Plant

On May 20, 2026, Pashinyan announced his intention to nationalize Ararat Cement and appoint an interim manager.

In June, the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia filed a lawsuit in defense of state interests based on violations uncovered during the privatization of the Ararat Cement Plant.
