Armenia's food safety inspectorate has suspended production of vanilla milk ice cream by Martin Star LLC "due to product non-compliance with safety requirements."
YEREVAN, July 12. /ARKA/. Armenia's food safety inspectorate has suspended production of vanilla milk ice cream by Martin Star LLC "due to product non-compliance with safety requirements." The company stated that it disagrees with the results of the regulator's inspection.
According to the regulator's press service, an inspection at the company's dairy production facility in Yerevan revealed violations of food safety and hygiene regulations. Laboratory tests showed that a sample of the "Vanilla Milk Ice Cream Bar" product did not meet the requirements of the Customs Union's technical regulations "On the Safety of Milk and Dairy Products" for levels of coliform bacteria.
By decision of the head of the inspectorate, production of this product has been suspended until the identified violations are rectified.
In response to an inquiry from the ARKA news agency, Martin Star LLC disagreed with the inspection results. The company's statement noted that tests of the same batch of ice cream, conducted in an accredited laboratory included in the official list of the inspection body, as well as in the company's own laboratory, revealed no violations, including in the coliform bacteria level.
"The company notified the Inspection Body of the test results in writing. Similar tests are conducted for all types and batches of ice cream produced," the statement read.
The company also emphasized that it pays special attention to compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements in production and considers consumer health protection its priority.
