Armenia and Greece sign military cooperation agreement

Lieutenant General Mikhail Kostarakos, the Chief of the National Defence General Staff of Greece and his Armenian counterpart Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov have signed today in Yerevan a plan of actions for boosting bilateral military cooperation in 2014. Yuri Khachaturov told reporters that the plan consists of ten measures.

YEREVAN, September 25. / ARKA /. Lieutenant General Mikhail Kostarakos, the Chief of the National Defence General Staff of Greece and his Armenian counterpart Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov have signed today in Yerevan a plan of actions for boosting bilateral military cooperation in 2014. Yuri Khachaturov told reporters that the plan consists of ten measures.
On behalf of Armenian armed forces he thanked the government of Greece for preservation of high-level military cooperation with Armenia despite economic difficulties.
"The cooperation involves the training and educational potential of both armies and also allows discussions of regional and global security and defense issues," Khachaturov said.
The Greek General added that the document signed today is the basis of bilateral cooperation in the defense sector.
Kostarakos was received by president Serzh Sargsyan and will also visit the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial in Yerevan to pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. -0-
