Armenia to Receive $9.6 Million to Strengthen HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis Programs

YEREVAN, April 30. /ARKA/. The Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria has announced its plans to allocate $9.6 million to enhance tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS programs in Armenia.
This decision was made during a meeting of the Armenian government on Wednesday.
The new program, which officially commenced on January 1, 2025, continues a long-standing collaboration, as Armenia has been benefiting from initiatives funded by the Global Fund since 2003.
By the end of 2024, the total support provided to Armenia amounted to approximately $89.3 million through these efforts.
The focus of these programs is to prevent, detect, research, and treat HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis. An essential aspect of this initiative is ensuring that individuals living with HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis have access to necessary medications, diagnostic materials, and medical equipment funded by the grants.
Since 2015, these programs have been executed under a Framework Agreement between the Global Fund and the Republic of Armenia.-0-
