Armenia to create single social security service
YEREVAN, January 27. /ARKA/. A single social security service will be created in Armenia, Labor and Social Affairs Minister Mesrop Arakelyan said during a government meeting on Wednesday. To that end the government approved today a set of amendments to the relating laws.
According to the minister, the main goal of the changes is to install effective mechanisms for implementing the government's policy in the field of social security, in particular, the system of integrated social services, which should be based on a unified system for assessing social needs.
He said the single social security service will unite the social service, the system of family benefits, the disability and employment and pensions systems. According to him, the new single social security system will be introduced on April 1, 2021.
He emphasized that the main goal is not only installing the one-stop-shop principle, but a comprehensive assessment of social needs of a family.
In this regard, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that such a policy is being pursued not only in the social sphere, but also in the provision of civil services.
“Today, in order to resolve some social issues, citizens are forced to travel from one government agency to another. We are creating a structure that will minimize these issues so that there is no need to visit several agencies .In the future, this process will be digitized so that sitting at home, a citizen will fill out all the necessary documents in electronic format and avoid unnecessary red tape,” Pashinyan said. --0--
