Russians’ attitude towards Armenia improving, study shows

The Russians’ attitude towards Armenia has improved over the past two decades, according to the results of a public opinion poll conducted by Russian Levada Center.

YEREVAN, June 22. /ARKA/. The Russians’ attitude towards Armenia has improved over the past two decades, according to the results of a public opinion poll conducted by Russian Levada Center.
The nationwide survey conducted in May 2016 embraced 800 respondents in 137 urban and rural communities in 48 regions aged 18 and older. The margin of error in these studies does not exceed 4.1% for 50% and higher figures.
According to the findings of the survey, the percentage of Russians who are well disposed towards Armenia, increased by 24% since 1999.
More precisely, 66% of Russians are basically well disposed towards Armenia, and 13% are very well disposed, up from 46% and 9% respectively in 1999. According to the survey, only 9% of Russians’ attitude towards Armenia is bad and 12% were undecided.
As for Azerbaijan, 70% of Russians are well disposed towards it, of which 9% are very well disposed. At the same time the attitude of 17% of respondents is bad, and 13% were undecided. -0-
