Armenian investments in Georgia increase by 40%, number of tourists from Armenia almost reaches 1 million – Kobakhidze

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, speaking Thursday at the 14th session of the Armenian-Georgian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Yerevan, announced the growth of Armenian investments in his country, as well as the impressive number of tourists from Armenia visiting Georgia.

YEREVAN, January 31. /ARКА/. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, speaking Thursday at the 14th session of the Armenian-Georgian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Yerevan, announced the growth of Armenian investments in his country, as well as the impressive number of tourists from Armenia visiting Georgia.

He noted that the Georgian government continues to effectively improve the business environment and investment climate, the press service of the Armenian government reported.

“I am very glad that Georgia is an interesting country for investments from Armenia. I must say that Armenian investments have increased by about 40%, and I will do everything to make Georgia more attractive for business and investment. I must note that we have effective, clear mechanisms, conditions and a program for investors, and we will facilitate the influx of more investors from your country,” he said.

Kobakhidze also noted with satisfaction that Georgia remains an attractive tourist destination for friendly Armenia.

"Almost a million tourists from Armenia have visited our country. This is an impressive number for a small country. Tourism is important not only for economic development, tourism is one of those tools that can deepen the ties between peoples, the ties between our countries, which already have very strong historical roots. Therefore, we are ready to further improve tourist destinations and attract more tourists from Armenia," the Georgian Prime Minister said.

He also added that Georgia and Armenia offer joint packages for travelers, emphasizing that these initiatives will help raise awareness of the countries and the region. -0-
