YEREVAN, October 1. /ARKA/. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the country cannot cross the line beyond which there is a risk of sanctions being imposed against Armenia itself.
"We are studying the sanctions package and acting very transparently with all our partners. We tell our friendly nations that we will do our utmost to maintain friendly relations. However, there is a line we cannot cross," Pashinyan noted at a briefing on Thursday.
He was responding to a question regarding US sanctions on Iran's aviation sector and potential issues concerning flights by Iranian airlines to Armenia arising from this situation.
According to Pashinyan, the issue concerns the risk that Armenia itself could face sanctions.
"Until Armenia actually faces these sanctions, we will act strictly in a spirit of friendship. But if we see that we ourselves are becoming subject to sanctions, what choice will we have? We will have to make a decision," Pashinyan said.
