Yerevan Municipality says garbage disposal problem solved
YEREVAN, July 31. /ARKA/. The Yerevan Municipality said today that the problem with garbage disposal in Yerevan has been completely solved.
Bagrat Aghajanyan, head of Garbage Disposal and Sanitation Department, told a working meeting on Monday that 495 employees of the department provide garbage removal and cleaning of the streets and yards of the capital 6 days a week.
He said 73 trucks were engaged in removal of the garbage in day and night shifts. Three vacuum cleaners and 31 watering machines were engaged in cleaning and washing of streets in a seven-day schedule.
Aghajanyan said new MAZ garbage trucks, acquired by the municipality, will soon reach the capital.
In recent weeks Yerevan residents have complained about insufficiently prompt garbage collection in the streets and yards. Photos with overfilled garbage cans are published in the networks. The issue was raised at previous meetings at the City Hall. --0-
