YEREVAN, August 31. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Lake Sevan is among top five CIS tourist destinations for summer rest, Novosti-Armenia reports with reference to RoomGuru.ru hotel search resource.
Top five resorts for tourists from CIS countries this summer are Issyk-Kul (Kyrgyzstan), Borovoe (Kazakhstan), Naroch (Belarus), Lankaran (the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan) and Lake Sevan (Armenia).
According to RoomGuru.ru, the number of Russian citizens’ summer trips to CJS countries rose 10% this summer, compared with the previous summer season. Tourists spent 3,600 Russian rubles ($55), on average, per day. They stayed 1.5 days, on average, on Sevan cost and 10 days in Issyk-Kul.
Minsk was the most popular city for tourists this summer among CIS cities.
Minsk is followed by Almaty, Baku, Astana, Yerevan, Kyiv, Bishkek, Vitebsk, Kishinev and Tashkent.
The cheapest city was Bishkek and the most expensive Astana in this summer ranking.
The most popular tourist destination in Russia was Sochi and Anapa among resorts this summer.
Moscow and St Petersburg are topping the cities’ ranking.
Lake Sevan is one of the largest alpine lakes in Europe and Asia, located in the heart of the Armenian plateau at an altitude of 1914 meters. It is 70 kilometer-long and the area of its water surface is nearly 1,500 square kilometers. The lake is a major source of fresh water in the region.
