YEREVAN, March 7. /ARKA/. The decrease in the total number of tourists arriving in Armenia in 2024 is primarily due to a reduction in the number of visitors from Russia, who make up the largest share, according to the report by the Armenian Ministry of Economy, "Socio-Economic Situation of the Republic of Armenia / January - December 2024" (Armenia: Economic Outlook / January-December 2024).

According to Armstat, the number of foreign tourists visiting Armenia in 2024 amounted to 2,208,179, a decrease of 4.7% compared to 2023.

The Ministry of Economy's study notes that in 2024, tourists from Russia accounted for 42.5% of the total number of entries into the country, down from 49.1% in 2023.

According to the agency, from January to December of the previous year, Armenia was visited by, in particular, 937,823 tourists from Russia (a decline of 17.5%), 266,048 from Georgia (an increase of 5.3%), 176,453 from Iran (an increase of 18%), 58,965 from the USA (an increase of 2.7%), and 43,672 from India (an increase of 24.8%).

Less than 390,000 tourists arrived in Armenia in January-March, the decline for the year is approaching 11%

In January-March 2025, 386,741 tourists visited Armenia compared to 434,425 people in the same period of 2024 (a 10.97% decline over the year), the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia reported.
