French Veolie Generale des Eaux to invest 80 billion drams in upgrading of Armenia’s water distribution system

The French company Veolie Generale des Eaux, chosen by the Armenian government as the single operator of the country’s water distribution networks, will invest 80 billion drams in the next 15 years in upgrading of the system, Arsen Harutyunyan, the head of the State Water Economy Committee, told representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), led by loan specialist Tia Melikadze, on November 1.

The Armenian government has chosen the French company Veolie Generale des Eaux as the single operator of the country’s water distribution networks. The French company will pay 89.75 billion drams for the 15-year license.
