Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that 800 billion drams will be allocated for the implementation of a housing program for persons displaced from Karabakh.
YEREVAN, August 27. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that 800 billion drams will be allocated for the implementation of a housing program for persons displaced from Karabakh.
"We will soon make decisions on providing housing for large families and refugees from Karabakh," Pashinyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.
The prime minister reported that approximately 7,000 families from Karabakh have already received certificates for the purchase of housing.
"We have identified 10,000 families in our program, but these are rough estimates—the figure may be different," Pashinyan said.
Earlier, Artak Beglaryan, President of the Artsakh Union NGO, former Ombudsman, and former State Minister of Artsakh, drew attention to the Armenian government's new program, which envisages providing housing for 10,000 families displaced from Karabakh, instead of the previously announced 25,000.
Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan stated that 45.7 billion drams had been allocated from the state budget to support compatriots displaced from Karabakh in 2025, and approximately 146 billion drams starting in 2023.
Armenian authorities plan to increase the housing certificate for displaced persons from Karabakh living in communities adjacent to Yerevan from 3 million to 4 million drams.
